DIY Tourbillon Watch with Aventurine watch dial
Warning: we strongly do not recommend assembling this as your first DIY watch. While the steps are similar to other DIY kits, this movement is significantly more expensive and delicate.

This is very likely the most expensive looking watch you can DIY currently :)
With the mesmerizing beauty of the aventurine, we cannot add too many elements to the dial. So each hour marker has been carefully designed so that it has the perfect shape and ratio to give us great legibility but at the same time, it won't take the spotlight away from the dial. The watch hands have also been re-designed to match the hour markers.
To house this beautiful movement, our watch case is our in-house designed piece of art, designed to maximize the opening both in the front to show the minimalist tourbillion dial, and the back to show off the beautiful finish of this movement. With clever engineering, this is also one of the slimmest tourbillons in its class.
While this tourbillon movement is already many times more affordable than its swiss counterparts, it is still a delicate craft that demands respect. Look at the back of the movement, the finishing, the delicate tourbillon cage along with the balance wheel, then you know this is a whole different level of craft when compared to our typical Seiko and Miyota movements.
The movement of choice is the SL-5200 flying tourbillon. There are more affordable and flashy options but we chose this movement for a reason: the people behind this movement are the master craftsman of higher-end products within the legendary seagull team.
Key challenge:
1) Carefully and patiently handle simple assembly steps to create a loupe-ready elegant timepiece. A large exhibition case back, and a delicate tourbillon mean any mistakes will affect the finished product.
2) Very tight gap between the hour hand and the dial. To make it safer for DIY, we have increased the thickness of the dial so that you don't crack the dial with just 1 mistake. But that also means that we now have a very small gap (~0.1mm) between the hour hand and the dial.
We would strongly recommend a clean workbench and a relaxed afternoon for this project. DO NOT RUSH THIS.
